Ava Nadir is a trailblazing leader in the ICT sector, serving as the first female member of the Board of Commissioners at the Media and Communications Commission since its formation in 2004. Her leadership has been pivotal in advancing Iraq's ICT infrastructure, marked by the deployment of the 4G network and the introduction of robust IT service projects. A key advocate for data protection legislation, Nadir's efforts have significantly bolstered both women's empowerment and media regulation within Iraq.
Her role extends globally as she collaborates with the UN to reform media policies enhancing women's representation. Additionally, she is a steering committee member of the NoW in ITU-D ARAB. Previously, she made significant contributions as a member of the Arab League's Expert Committee on ICT Public Policy. Her career also includes leadership positions in international organizations such as (ITU-UN), (IWPR) and (UNDP), further emphasizing her influence and expertise in global policy and development.

Nadir's rich background includes impactful roles at major corporate telecom entities and a crucial tenure as the Assistant Chief of Staff for the President of Iraq, HE Jalal Talabani, where she led digital transformation initiatives within the presidency.
Possessing an MBA from the UK and bachelor’s degrees in computer science and also diploma of Art from Baghdad-Iraq, Nadir's diverse expertise underscores her commitment to advocacy. Her dedication to fostering gender equality and digital empowerment is further demonstrated by her influential roles:
